My wife and I recently read of the loss of your loved one, and would like to offer our condolences.
We recently had a loss in our family and found help in dealing with it by considering what the bible says about the hope it gives us of seeing our loved ones again.
One scripture I like is Ecc. 9:5 where it says "the living are concious that they will die, but as for the dead, they are concious of nothing at all", and Jesus continued that thought when his friend Lazarus died. At John 11:11 he said "Lasarus our friend has gone to rest, but I am journeying there to awaken him from sleep".
This helped us a lot, knowing our loved one was 'resting', concious of nothing at all. Another scripture that gave us hope was John 5:28&29 which talks of the resurrection of 'all those in the memorial tombs'.
So this assures us that not only is our loved ones resting, but also that we have the hope of seeing them again through the resurrection that Jesus promised!
I hope these thoughts from the bible will offer you the same comfort it gave to us.
