Obituary of Elizabeth Ruda

Elizabeth (Carlage) Ruda passed away peacefully at Saint Vincent's Hospital surrounded by her loving and grateful family. She is survived by her three children: son Jim Ruda and his wife Lin, son Bob Ruda, and daughter Kathy Vallon and her husband Ron of Medfield, MA. She also leaves her six grandchildren: Jonathan & Allison Ruda, Amy Fox, Erica & Jordan Vallon, and John R. Ruda; two great grandchildren Haleigh and Abigail Ruda; and a brother, Fred Carlage of Woodstock, CT. Her husband of 59 years, John J. Ruda, predeceased her in 2005. Known by her family and friends as "Elsie", she graduated from Putnam High School and worked as an administrative assistant at the former Belding Hemingway of Putnam. After her marriage she worked as the office manager for Ruda's Dairy. She was a member of the Saint Andrew Bobola Church and enjoyed family events, travel with her husband, cooking with friends, crossword puzzles, and reading. Her funeral will be held Thursday January 17 from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St. followed by a private graveside service at St. Joseph Garden Of Peace Cemetery, Webster.
