Dudley - Cecelia (Kolnacki) Wajer, 88, of 38 Mason Rd., died Friday, July 10 in Webster Manor, Webster, MA. Her husband of 46 years, RomanWajer died in 1991.
She leaves one daughter: Martha Putnam of Dudley, MA
one son: Roman Wajer, Jr and his wife Lori of Woodstock, CT
Grandson , Joseph Huq & Kiki and great-grand son, Brian Huq all of Hamburg, Germany .
Grandson, Martin Huq and his fiance Mary Brady of Lowell; Former Son In-law, Jack Huq of Webster and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Francis Kolnacki.
She was born in Dudley, the daughter of the late Jozef and Maryanna (Piasta) Kolnacki and lived here all her life.
She graduated from Bartlett High School class of 1939. Graduated from Becker Jr. college in Worcester and received her bachelors from Annhurst College in Woodstock Ct. She began her career in Southbridge as a Executive Secretary to John Crawford, President of American Optical Co. She then enjoyed several years of teaching at Woodstock Academy before she officially joined the family business in 1971. She was an Executive Vice President for 21 years at P. Wajer & Sons Express Co. in Dudley retiring in 1992.
Cecelia was a world traveler starting in the 1950's with trips to Mexico& South America. Other destinations included Poland, Russia, Bangladesh, China, Australia, Egypt and The Vatican for a private audience with Pope John Paul II. She had a passion for reading and gourmet cooking.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday July 13th at 11 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St., Dudley. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Garden Of Peace Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 9AM to 10:30AM at Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley in lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her memory may be made to St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St., PO Box 98, Dudley, MA 01571. www.bartelfuneralhome.com
