Obituary of Bruce Chiras

Danielson - Bruce A. Chiras, 51, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, Nov.15 at his home with his family by his side. He leaves his beloved wife of 24 years, Lynn(Green) Chiras. two daughters: Danielle Parent and her husband Gregg of Pascoag, RI, Erin Mott and her husband Todd of Brooklyn, NY one son: Jonathan Hilton of Webster, MA Two sisters: Sharon J. Erickson and her husband Al of Plattsburg, NY, Pamela J. Jones and her husband Mike of Burlington, VT .Four brothers: Thomas M. Chiras and his wife Michele of Hubert, NC, James D. Chiras and his wife Theresa of Hubert, NC, Brian K Chiras of Quinebaug, CT, Kevin G. Chiras and his wife Peggy of Coronado, CA . His mother-in-law, Claire Green and sister &brother in-law Carol and Bob Kiley all of Brooklyn Ct. ; 3 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews . He was born in Memphis, TN, the son of the late Thomas J and Rita (Cazeault) Chiras. He lived in Brooklyn and Killingly most of his life. He was a Machinist at the ASAP Machine Shop & Fabrication in Plainfield for 15 years previously he worked at Kaman Aircraft in Moosup for 10 years. He served in the USAF (1976-1980) during the Iran hostage Crisis .He was an avid fisherman and gardener and enjoyed spending time with his family. Memorial Mass will be Friday, Nov. 20 at 11 AM in Saint Joseph Church, 18 Main St., North Grosvenordale. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial calling hours are Thursday Nov. 19 from 6 to 8 PM at Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, MA.
