Obituary of Dorothy Daviau

Dorothy G. (Rayno) Daviau died peacefully with family by her side on January 11, 2011. She was born in Putnam CT and was married for 57 years to Robert O. Daviau in 1953. She was the last of 17 children and leaves one living Sister, Alice Bruce from Putnam Ct.
She had 4 daughters: Sharon & Bruce Labay of Oxford, Donna & George Kokoszka of Webster, Diane & Stephen Joiner of Taunton and Mary & Shawn Below of Putnam CT. She loved her 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She worked at B&W Footware and Sandlerette Shoe for several years before retiring in 1969. Dorothy and her husband were Foster parents for 33 years taking in over 100 children that needed their love and compassion.
Dorothy lived in Webster most of her married life. She was an active candlepin bowler and also was a Girl Scout leader for almost 30 years. Dorothy loved to go camping and kept herself busy crocheting and taking care of her grandchildren. Her greatest pastime was volunteering at St. Anne School in Webster, MA. She proudly volunteered to the Sacred Heart Church Festival for 13 years running either Children games and the Kitchen.
In 2008-2009 Dorothy was the President of the Golden Heights Tenants Association. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Circle of Charity organization both connected through Sacred Heart Church in Webster.
In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to St. Anne School in Webster, MA. Calling hours are 6-8pm Thursday, January 13th at Bartel Funeral Home 33 Schofield Ave. in Dudley with a mass on Friday January 14th at 9am at Sacred Heart Church 16 east Main St. Webster burial will follow in the parish cemetery. www.bartelfuneralhome.com
