Obituary of Melicher Puchovsky

Dudley - Melicher "Mel" Puchovsky, 74, died peacefully after a long illness Wednesday, April 27 ,2011 at his home with his family by his side. Mel leaves his wife of 45 years, Bozena "Bessie"(Mihalik) Puchovsky. two sons: Miloslav "Milosh" Puchovsky and his wife Debi of Mendon, MA, Roman Puchovsky and his wife Tara of Stamping Ground, KY .one daughter: Sylvia Messier and her husband Andrew of Stow, MA Six dear grandchildren, Angelica "Jelly", Noah, Gabrielle, Lucas, Emilia and Sydney. one brother: Anthony Puchovsky in Slovakia. He was born in Slovakia the son of the late Anthony and Anna (Michalik) Puchovsky. He graduated from Bratislava Technical University with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. They immigrated to Dudley in 1969 . Melicher put his degree to work at Morgan Construction in Worcester for over 30 years as a principal engineer and inventor having been granted multiple patents for his inventions. In 2002 he retired but continued to be a consultant for Morgan Construction until 2009. Mr. Puchovsky had great love for his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, and enjoyed handyman tasks for them all. He was an avid reader and enjoyed classical music, Sudoku and debating politics. His funeral will be held Friday April 29, 2011 from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, MA with a Mass at 10 AM St. Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Rd., Dudley. Burial will follow in St. Anthony of Padua Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday April 28 from 5 to 8 PM.
