Barbara T. (Antkowiak) George, age 78, of 5 George St., Dudley died peacefully Sunday, November 13, 2011 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center - University Campus of Worcester, MA. Barbara was born December 5, 1932 in Dudley, MA. She is the daughter of the late Stanley J. and the late Theresa (Dupre) Antkowiak. She was predeceased by her husband, Martin George on Nov. 9, 2008.
She is survived by one daughter: Barbara Van Dyke and her husband Robert of Spencer, MA and one son: Martin George Jr. and his wife Annette of Reno, NV; one sister: Patricia Szczur of North Grafton, MA and one brother: Raymond Antkowiak of Auburn, MA. She has three grandsons, Robbie Van Dyke, Dustin Van Dyke, and Jason Van Dyke. She also has many nieces and nephews.
Barbara is predeceased by her brothers, Frank Antkowiak, Stanley Jr. Antkowiak, and Richard Antkowiak; sisters Alice Millette and Dorothy Gelineau.
Barbara grew up in Dudley and lived most of her married life there. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1950. During their youthful years, she and her husband, Martin enjoyed water-skiing all 3 ponds of Webster Lake with family and friends. She was employed by and retired from, the former Brooks Pharmacy on West Main St. in Dudley, and always had a smile for everyone.
Barbara also lived her entire life to the fullest as a homemaker for her family; baking, cooking, cleaning, and sewing.
At her request and wishes, services were private at Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Ave. Dudley MA.
A public memorial service talk will be given on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 3PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 52 Old Webster Road, Oxford, MA.www.bartelfuneralhome.com
