Obituary of M. Pearl DiDonato

M. Pearl DiDonato, 95, of Webster, died peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital on Sunday, February 23, 2014. She is survived by her caring son, Richard DiDonato and his wife Janice of Webster; her daughter-in-law, Virginia DiDonato of Dudley; her grandson, Jeffrey DiDonato of Dudley; and granddaughters, Debra Tagg and her husband Michael of Charlton and Pamela O'Sullivan and her husband Michael of Shrewsbury. She leaves four great grandchildren, Nicholas and Kristin Tagg and Julia and Jack O'Sullivan, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Leonard E. DiDonato, husband of Virginia DiDonato and sisters, Pat Deren and Irene Piskala. Born and raised in Webster, the daughter of Henry Ryan and Diana (Latour) Ryan, she graduated from St. Louis High School. She had been a member of the St. Louis League of Catholic Women and was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at many hospitals, especially at The Veterans Hospital in Rutland, MA. For many years, she was a dedicated Adorer at The Emmaus Center in The Blessed Sacrament Chapel at The Sacred Heart Parish in Webster. She made many friends during her time there and respected their dedication to the Chapel. She enjoyed watching golf and rooting for the Red Sox. She cherished the years spent caring for her family, especially the fun she had with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. To her grandchildren and all their friends, she was known lovingly as "Grandma D". Her funeral will be Thursday February 27,2014 from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel 33 Schofield Ave.Dudley with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Louis Church 14 Lake St. Webster burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hour Thursday morning 8:30 to 9:30 at the funeral home. Pearl was a member of St. Louis Church.
