Obituary of Susan Mary Wrabel

Webster- Susan Mary (Susienka) Wrabel, formerly of Windsor Locks, CT and Webster, MA passed away peacefully in her sleep, Sunday June 1 at the age of 82. Sue was born January 4, 1932 in East Douglas, MA, daughter of the late Rudolph and Susan (Bielik) Susienka and for 59 wonderful years was the wife of the late Michael G. Wrabel Sr. She grew up in East Douglas and was a graduate of Douglas High School. In 1951 Sue married Mike, the love of her life. They moved to Windsor Locks where they lived for 36 years, raising their family before retiring to Webster Lake. Sue leaves her sons Michael Jr. (Joyce), Mark, Paul (Christine), and Peter all of Windsor Locks, and David (Sharon) of Burlington, CT. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren: Michael III (Amy), James (Mary Beth), Heather (David), David (Katie), Eileen, Paul Jr, Sarah and Alyssa; 4 great-grandchildren: Jeffrey, Gregory, Laura and Lincoln; her brother, Joseph and wife Stacia, sister-in-law Lillian, all of Whitinsville, MA; cousin and "adopted sister" Mary Plante, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Sue was predeceased by her sister Emily and husband Richard McLaughlin, her sister Mary Ann and husband Robert Cerulle, her brother William and wife Mary, her brothers Rudolph, and Victor and sister-in-law Anne and husband Edmund Girard. Mom was a loving individual who truly cared about the well-being of everyone, always quick with a smile and a kind word. Family meant a lot to her and she hosted many family reunions through the years at the Lake. She was a longtime member of the Council of Catholic Woman at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Windsor Locks. Mom truly loved her close friends from Windsor Locks, the Owls. The family would like to thank the staff at the Overlook Masonic Home in Charlton, MA and the UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA for the extraordinary care and kindness shown to her during her visits over the years. Since 2010, Mom was lovingly cared for by Joyce and Mike as well as home caregivers Jenn Barthel and Elaine Burke. We would also like to sincerely thank our brother Pete for taking Mom to spend many weekends at home on the Lake. It was a great comfort for her and helped us keep our promise to Dad. Calling hours are Friday June 6, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave, Dudley, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday June 7, 2014 at 10 AM in St. Louis Church, 15 Lake St., her burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery both Webster, MA.
