Obituary of Bernard J. Rock

� Dudley/Lehigh Acres Fla. - Bernard J. Rock, 68, died Sept.19 in Lehigh Regional Hospital, Lehigh Acres after a short illness. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Mary Ann (Fiske) Rock. His children Susan Rivera and her husband Michael of Dudley, David Rock and his wife Karen of Lehigh Acres, Kathleen Gerhard and her husband Paul of Dudley and Maureen St.Laurent and her husband Raymond of Brimfield. Five grandchildren Devan,Nicholas, Alex ,Peter and Kevin. Two Brothers Robert Rock of Dudley and Paul Rock of Webster He was born in Dudley the son of the late Louis and Mary (Rybacki) Rock and lived over 20 years in Dudley. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1954, Bernard then served in the U.S. Army stationed in Oklahoma and Italy for two years and then several years in the reserves. Bernard worked in the Maintenance Department for Commerce Insurance Co. in Webster retiring to Lehigh Acres in 1997. In his retirement he was a courier at Lee Memorial Hospital in Florida. He was a member of American Legion Post 184 in Webster . He was an avid sports fan and a devoted Patriots and Red sox follower. He enjoyed trips back home to Dudley and his faithful companion "Rocky" His funeral with Military Honors will be held Friday Sept.23 from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church 54 West Main St.Burial after cremation will be at a later date. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 6 to 8 PM . Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions in his honor to St. Jude Childrens Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942 .
