Dudley - Robert L. Dumouchel 86 of 3 St. Mary Ave. died Sunday October 29 at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester after an illness. He leaves his wife of 64 years Rita ( Gion) Dumouchel.
A daughter Adelle Indelicato of Delaware, two sons: Robert Dumouchel of Thompson Ct. and Jay Dumouchel of Dudley. one sister: Loretta Morczek of Webster.Seven Grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. Predeaceased by brothers Louis J. Dumouchel, Lester Dumouchel, Leo Dumouchel and Roland Dumouchel.
He was born in Webster, the son of the late Louis J. and the late Aurore (Philie) Dumouchel and lived
all his life in Webster and Dudley. He served as a Staff Sergeant with the 474th Battalion in the Army during WWII. He was an outstanding baseball player playing in the service and semi-pro baseball.
Bob was a manager for many years at the former Thrifty Market on east main st. in Webster.
Robert devoted some 45 years to the Webster Lodge of Elks 1466 . A Past Extalted Ruler for the
Lodge and Past Distrect Deputy for the state assocation . Bob was instrumental in forming the Webster
Elks Bingo and served many years on virtually every committee. He was a communicant of St. Louis Church .Bob was a deputy sheriff for many years and honored as Worcester County deputy sheriff of the year in 1982.
A funeral will be held Thursday Nov. 2 from the Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley.with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St., Webster. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery Webster. Calling hour will be Thursday Nov.2 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the funeral home . Please Omit flowers.
