WEBSTER- Jeanne(Lemay) Betty, age 92, died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Holden Rehab and Nursing Center of Holden after a period of declining health. Jeanne was born in St. Bernard, Quebec the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Marie (Beauchane) Lemay.
She is survived by her five children Micheline Betty of Webster, Dianne Kohlhofer and her husband Merrill of Salem, Suzanne Durand and her husband Raymond of Thompson, CT. Richard Betty of St. Albans, VT and Lisa Zendzian and her husband Michael of West Boylston. Michael Betty and his wife Diana of Douglas. She has 14 grandchildren 12 great -grandchildren and some great great grandchildren that she never got to know.
Predeceased by her Husband of 53 years Zoel Betty and sons Claude, Victor and Gerard Betty.Jeanne Betty was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
She worked at Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster as a custodian on 3rd shift through the 70's. She then worked at Hayward-Schuster Woolen Mills in East Douglas as a weaver on 2nd shift for many years through the 80's and finally retired in 1986. She also worked at the Catholic Charities Thrift Shop in Webster part time for a number of years. She always found time to help out others with either rides, shopping, sewing and mending clothes, quilting and she loved ot knit! She was loved by and did love many, many people over her lifetime and will be missed.
Her funeral will be held THURSDAY March 3rd at 8 :45 AM from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel 33 Schofield Ave.Dudley with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St., Webster. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Of Jesus Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 2 from 6-8 pm at Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, MA.
