Dudley -Frances T. ( Houlberg) Taylor 84 passed peacefully Wednesday, April 6, 2016 .
She leaves her children Gerald Taylor of Dudley , Bruce Taylor and his wife Bonnie of Charlton and Sandra Taylor of Paxton . Her grandson Eric and his wife Jamie, two great-grandchildren; and a sister Glenna Tyrell of Dudley.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl daughter Brenda and brother Gordon.
Fran was born in Southbridge, MA. She is the daughter of the late Francis R. and the late Thelma (Christiansen) Houlberg. She raised 4 children while working beside her husband Carl as a seamstress at Carl's Upholstery in Dudley. She taught Sunday school at the First Congregational Church of Dudley. Fran loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. She golfed in the Nichol's Women's League and coached softball for Dudley Lassie League.
She was a member of the Emblem Club at the former Webster Lodge of Elks 1466 in Webster and active with her husband at the lodge. She was passionate about family, friends and neighbors and never stopped doing for others. Frances will be missed by those whose lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held 10 AM on Friday , April 15 at Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Southbridge .Memorial Calling hours will be Thursday April 14 from 6 to 8 PM at Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, MA. www.bartelfuneralhome.com
