Obituary of Genevieve A. McNamara

WEBSTER.- Genevieve A. "Jenny" (Ostrokolowicz) McNamara, age 76, of Christopher Heights {formerly of 87 Myrtle Avenue} died Monday March 19th at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA. Her husband of 26 years, Bernard F. McNamara, died in 1976. She leaves a son Kevin M. McNamara of Carlsbad, California, and a son Robert P. McNamara and his wife Janice of Dudley, MA. Grandsons Jeffrey R. McNamara and his wife Melanie and Great Grandson Cooper Shawn of Westfield, MA; Shawn M. McNamara and his wife Brandi of Dudley, MA.; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. She was predeceased by her sister Bessie T. Kozub of Webster in 2003 and two brothers: Chester T. Ostrokolowicz of Webster in 1961 and Joseph T. Ostrokolowicz of Webster in 1984. Genevieve was born in Webster, a daughter of Peter and Anastasia (Wedda) Ostrokolowicz, and lived here all her life. Genevieve devoted a life time of service to the United Way of Webster-Dudley as the Executive Director for 32 years, retiring in 1997. Genevieve held memberships with Hubbard Regional Hospital Guild and the Friends of the Chester C. Corbin Library. She was a Communicant of St. Louis Church as well as being a Notary Public. In 1996, Genevieve was named to Who's Who in Executives and Professionals. Her likes included spending time with family and friends, doing crossword puzzles and had a passion for 'good food.' Her funeral will be held Saturday March 24 from the Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley. with a Mass at 10AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Webster. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Garden Of Peace Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours will be Friday March 23 from 5 to 8 PM .
