Obituary of June A Chasse

WORCESTER - June A. (Person) Chasse, 93, died Friday, September 9, 2022. Born in 1929, the daughter of Rudolph M. and Mabel B. (Denno) Person, she lived her early life in Worcester, where she met Dr. Adrian TJ Chasse. After marriage in 1953, his graduation from medical school, and internship, they eventually settled in Webster, where they raised six children: Renelle Chasse Grajales of Cherry Valley, Danielle Chasse, John Chasse of Paxton, Robert Chasse of South Carolina, Norman Chasse of Pennsylvania, and Ghislaine Vaughn of Worcester. A sister Carol Robbins of Marlborough. June was predeceased by her husband Adrian in 1995. In addition to her six children, she leaves 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In 1948, she graduated from North High and packed boxes in a Worcester shoe factory, then worked as an office manager at Paul Revere Life Insurance Company in Worcester. After several decades of childrearing, June returned to office work as a medical coder, from which she retired in 1991. While a homemaker, June attended many Clark University evening classes, taught CCD classes until 1981, volunteered at the Hubbard Regional Hospital gift shop in Webster, and for the Emmaus Center at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Webster. For several years, she answered phones as a Crisis Center hotline counselor for Y.O.U. Inc. in Worcester. June was a past board member of the Webster-Dudley Garden Club, and a past member of the Southbridge Garden Club and Webster Woman's Club. She was a certified landscape design critic. For decades, she designed, installed and maintained the decorative seasonal plantings in a repurposed horse-trough at Webster Town Hall. Calling hours will be 6-8 pm Monday, Sept. 12 at Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley. A funeral Mass will be held 10 am Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 18 East Main Street, Webster.
