Obituary of Barbara A Phelps

DUDLEY: Barbara (Bastek)Phelps, born in Webster, MA on December 4, 1935, passed away suddenly but peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on May 29, 2023. Barbara was married to her love Kermit Phelps for 66 years and now reunited with him. Barbara was the daughter of Bernard Bastek and Rose (Siok) Bastek. Barbara leaves her children: Cherryll Esse, Kim Maple & husband Donald; Joel Phelps & wife Jacqueline, Cindy Siegmund and friend Bob Stebbins; Jody Phelps & wife Joanne. She leaves her grandchildren: Amie Siegmund; Sara Maple & fiancé Dan Daigle; Andrew Miers and wife Tiffany; Sherman Miers and fiancé KP; Breanna Stone and husband Morgan; Danielle Favata and husband Carl; Nathan Phelps, David & Mandie Palubeckis. Her great-grandchildren Hudson & Grayson Stone, Anthony Favata, Dimitri & Collin Burtt and Raylan. Barbara also leaves her sister-in-law Susan Phelps, Eunice Bastek & nephews/nieces. She was predeceased by siblings Joseph & Bernard Bastek. Barbara was known as the lunch lady at Shepherd Hill Cafeteria where she worked for many years. She was devoted to her family and her family was devoted to her. Summers were spent at the pool floating and enjoying many barbecues. Barbara made the world’s best potato salad, mac-n-cheese and ham and so much more! She enjoyed reading and celebrating the holidays at her house. She also enjoyed exercise classes at the Oxford Community Center at 87 years old! The funeral will be at Dudley First Congregational Church on June 15, 2023 at 10 a.m., burial will follow in Corbin Cemetery Corbin Rd. Dudley.
