BENNINGTON – Vincent Martinek, Jr., 86, of Bennington, VT passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 at home surrounded by his family and loved ones after a period of declining health. Vincent was born in Webster, MA, the son of the lateVincent and the late Anita (Wagner) Martinek.
Members of his family include three sons, Christopher (Mary Lou) Martinek from Albany, NY; Thomas (Patsy) Martinek from North Creek, NY; the late V. James Martinek from Albany, NY; one daughter JoAnne (Stephen) Petro from Braintree, MA; eight grandchildren Kyle, Patrick, Marissa, Kristie, Jarred, Daniel, Bryon, Keri; six great grandchildren Cody, Konnor, Logan, Jordan, Calum , Cian, nieces, nephews and exnded family in Webster and Dudley, MA.
Vincent proudly served in the Marine Corps for over 24 years during the Vietnam war. He received the Vietnam Service Medal with one star,, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Marksman Badge Rifle M-1 Cal.30. Vincent also retired from the New York State Lottery as the Director of Instant Games.
Services: Calling hours will be on Monday, September 11, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley, MA followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley, MA with burial to follow in St. Anthony of Padua Cemetery. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide Military Honors for GySgt. Martinek
