Obituary of George V Milios
Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
George V. Milios of Dudley passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 4, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer). George leaves his wife, Julie Johnson Milios, with whom he was blessed with 32 years of marriage, and his son, Niko Milios, who were the loves of his life.
He also leaves his beloved parents, Vasilios "Billy" Milios, Evdoxia "Grace" Milios, a brother, John Milios, of Webster, who fought the long hard battle right by his side; his mother in law and "second Mom", Maureen Johnson; a brother in law, Jeffrey Johnson; a niece, Drew Belair; his "cousins like brothers", John Sgouritsas and Thomas Valaouras; his wife's cousins, Jonathan, Kasey and Ryan Phelps of Manchester, CT., who he adored and considered his "nephews"; and many cousins, locally, and from as far away as Greece and Australia.
George also leaves and thanks his dear friends, David Tonkin, Kristine Remy, Gerald Berube, Paul and Kathy Gerhard, and the Wajer and Gauthier families who were there for him for his daily needs and provided strength and support while fighting the battle beside him.
George deeply loved Julie and Niko, and his best times were with his family and friends enjoying time together in Dennisport / Cape Cod, particularly at the beach, which George so very much loved. George was also a New England Patriots fan and adopted Tom Brady's motto, "LFG", which he quoted and used in strength as he battled cancer.
George graduated from Bartlett High School where he was Senior Co-Captain of the football team. He later graduated from Worcester State University, earning a BSBA degree. George was a long-time employee of MAPFRE Insurance, holding several positions before having to retire in 2019, but where he created many cherished friendships. He also enjoyed working Friday nights for many years alongside "Billy" in the kitchen at his family's restaurant, Billy's Burg-O-Rama, in Oxford until 2015 when his family retired.
