Obituary of Lorraine Canty
Please share a memory of Lorraine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lorraine (Pepin) Canty, age 79, of Webster died peacefully at home with her loving family at her side on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Lorraine was born November 7, 1944 in Worcester, MA. She is the daughter of the late Charles and the late Clara (Lynch) Pepin. She lived in Webster most of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Canty in 2002 and her brother Charles Pepin in 2021.
She is survived by one daughter: Lisa Peters and her husband Brian Peters of Webster, MA; her two sons: Chad Pepin of Webster, MA and Richard Canty and his wife Erin of Pomfret, CT; her sister Juanita Bennard of Vinalhaven, ME; and her five grandchildren, Damian, Ashlin, Savannah, Delaney and Zachary.
She was known by many as their favorite waitress at Lake Pizza in Webster, and no matter where she went, someone always seemed to recognize her and stopped her to talk. To her family, she was affectionately known as "Cookin' Nana", and she loved cooking for the family. She also enjoyed telling stories of her life, with her peppy, witty personality. She had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. She often talked about her childhood in Oxford where she spent most of her days outside and bringing home various wild creatures for her mother to later find. She loved animals and had a variety of them over the years. In addition to cooking, she loved gardening, playing bingo, going to the casino, going to the ocean, and most of all, she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and the family dog, Tully.
