Obituary of Boleslaus S. Zacek

Dudley - Boleslaus S. "Benny" Zacek, 90, of 26 A Green St., died Dec. 10 in Lutheran Home of Worcester. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Nicolina (Quatrale) Zacek. Two sons: Charles J. Zacek and his wife Linda of Dudley, Dennis Zacek and his friend Deborah Coles of Brookfield. A brother: Francis Zacek of Dudley, two sisters: Mary Kostka of Grafton, Josephine Grabowski of SC. , Four Grandchildren ,Two Great-Granddaughters and one Great Grandson. Several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers Joseph , Anthony and sister Sophie J. Siegmund. He was born in Millbury,son of Boleslaw and Mary (Wysocki) Zacek and lived in Dudley most of his life. A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII he enlisted in 1938 and served until 1941 . He then reenlisted when the war broke out and volunteered for overseas duty. Serving in North Africa and Italy for the duration of the war. He worked at Hayward-Shuster Textile Mill and Cranston Print Works retiring in 1982. A communicant of St. Andrew Bobola Church. A 60 year member of the American Legion Post 184 Southern Mass Police Association. Benny served as a Sewer Commissioner for the Town of Dudley for nine years and was an auxiliary police officer for many years for the town. A member of Polish National Alliance of Webster and Dudley. A funeral will be held Thursday Dec. 13 from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave. with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Andrew of Bobola Church 54 West Main St Dudley Burial with military honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veteran Council will follow in St. Joseph Garden Of Peace Cemetery, Webster.
