Dear Family of Matt:
I have very fond memories of Matt since meeting him in Dudley Jr High. He was my first dance partner at age 12. Always a good friend with a ready smile. He added joy to his many friends in Dudley.
I am not surprised by his caring and success.
With Deepest Sympathy

I had the pleasure of working with Matt while he was a resident at Brookdale. He was a very nice man who touched my heart. It was an honor to be able to care for him. Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed .

Maryan, Barbara and the clan--so sorry to hear about Matt. He was a loving, caring, openhearted soul (handsome too!) who I am certain touched a lot of people's hearts, outside of cherished family and friends, through his chosen work, which he obviously excelled at. May he rest in peace and in your hearts forever.
Love, June

I first met Matt in the early 70's. He was teaching at the the University of Saint Joseph's Gengras Center in West Hartford CT where I was a faculty member. We instantly connected and became roommates for several years both in Manchester and in Simsbury. We traveled to the UK and Ireland one summer also in the 1970's.Here's a photo of Matt in Edinburgh Scotland during that trip. I have wonderful memories of that trip.
His love of children with special needs was obvious. As often happens, we lost touch as years went by but recently reconnected thanks to a mutual friend and Facebook. I remember his laugh and his love of life. RIP, Matt.
