Obituary of Matthew Dellomo

Matthew Dellomo, 77, of Auburn died Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at St.Vincent Hospital Matthew was born December 13, 1945 in Webster, MA. He is the son of the late John J and the late Carol (DiDonato) Dellomo. of Dudley He is survived by two sisters: Barbara C. Orsini and her husband Richard and Maryan Dellomo all of Dudley. Two nephews Rick Orsini and David Orsini 4 great nieces and nephews and 9 great-great nieces and nephews , also his Uncle, Jerry DiDonato He treasured time spent with his family. Matt received his B.S from Worcester State in 1967. M.A. from St. Joseph College in West Hartford in 1971 and C.A.G.S. from Southern CT State University in New Haven in 1980. Originally from Dudley ,Matthew lived many years in West Hartford ,CT. He began teaching Science in Manchester 67-69 . Special Ed was his next endeavor at Gengras Center for Exceptional Children at St. Joseph College. In 1975 he moved on to a position at Valley Psychiatric Hospital in Middletown, Ct. In 1978 he was promoted to Principal at Altobello Hospital in Meriden Ct. In 1989 he took his last professional position as Principal at CT. Children's Place School in East Windsor. He retired to Windsor, CT and later Brookdale at Eddy Pond in Auburn. Throughout his career he was active with many professional organizations always looking toward enriching the lives and education of children. Past president and treasurer of CT. Chapter 6 of the CEC . He was invited as a guest speaker at countless seminars . A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday December 9, 2023 at Hadwen Park Congregational Church, 6 Clover St., Worcester, MA 01603 burial will be private In lieu of flowers donations to his church .www.bartelfuneralhome.com
